By using World on Foot ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

World on Foot is a GPS-based audio walking-tour app that describes points of interest near you and can suggest walking routes. It is provided for information and entertainment.

2. Free access

The app is currently provided free of charge. Any subscription or purchase option shown in the app currently grants full access at no charge, and no payment is collected. We may change features or pricing in the future, with notice where required.

3. Your safety and responsibility

The app is an aid — not a substitute for your own judgment and awareness. By using it you agree that:

• You will stay aware of your surroundings and will not stare at your phone while walking or biking. Stop somewhere safe before interacting with the app.
• You will obey all traffic laws, signals, and signs, and take care near roads, water, cliffs, trails, and crowds.
• You will respect private property, posted rules, closures, and the peace of residential neighborhoods, and will not trespass.
• Location, route, and place information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and you will not rely on it for navigation or safety.
• You are solely responsible for your own safety and conduct while using the app.
• If you are a minor, you will use the app with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.

4. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app. You will not attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its backend, and you will not use the app for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its original content, and its curated compilation of points of interest are owned by us or our licensors. Map data, place information, and generated audio are provided subject to the terms of their respective providers. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.

6. Third-party services and content

The app uses third-party services (mapping, routing, encyclopedic content, audio generation) and may describe third-party places and businesses. We do not control and are not responsible for those services, their content, or the places described.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or accurate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, World on Foot and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any reliance on location, routing, or place information.

9. Changes

We may modify the app or these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
